I have a number of firsts that I am Proud of
My career started out of my love for creativity.
I started my first retail store in 1984. I Owned and operated 4 different locations in California.
I had an eclectic mix of art supplies, children’s books, stickers, rubber stamps, stationery and seasonal items. We did personalization on acrylic items.
We did the very first rubber stamp convention in Northern California 1n 1985.
Invitations, party favors and paper goods led us into the event planning business. We worked closely with our clients to produce some of the most extravagant celebrations. Custom invitations, personalized party favors, decoration and coordination led us to the….
First Scrapbook Convention. It was an epic success and many companies from all over the USA came to witness the phenomenon of an industry that exploded quickly.
I was one of the first contributing editors of Creating Keepsakes Magazine
I was referred to as an early pioneer in the industry.
I received my first lifetime achievement award from the Memory Group
I started a manufacturing business in 1991. I self published over 15 how-to books that are still being sold. Several of them have sold hundreds of thousands of copies.
I was the first company invited to India to teach at their first Creative Expo
I have made personal appearances and taught classes in 46 of the 50 states in the USA.
I have been featured on many of the early craft television shows. Including HGTV
So you see why I want to be the first Junk Journal Convention
I owned a Bed and Breakfast and taught classes and did retreats.
There is a long list of people that helped and shared in my successes. They know who they are.
